Contacts

Each contact gets its own AI mediator — system prompt, memory, and tools.

Every person who messages you on a connected platform becomes a contact in Mediator. Each contact carries its own AI mediator configuration, independent of every other contact.

  • A system prompt describing how the AI should behave for that person.
  • An optional memory field the AI reads and updates as it learns.
  • A history limit (2–100 past messages) included in the AI's context.
  • A per-contact allow-list of integration actions the AI may call.

See Mediator config per contact for the full detail.

How contacts are created

You don't add most contacts by hand — they appear on their own. There are two ways to get your first ones:

  • Someone messages a connected account. Connect WhatsApp or Facebook on the Dashboard. Anyone who then writes to that account becomes a contact automatically, ready for you to configure their mediator. To pre-configure a WhatsApp contact before they write, use Add contact on this page.
  • Create an on-site chat contact. Create an on-site contact to get a shareable chat link. The other person opens it in any browser and talks to your AI mediator directly — nothing to install on their side.

Want the AI to do things (calendar, email, and more) during a conversation? Connect those on the Integrations page, then enable the specific actions per contact.
