On-site chat link
A public URL you share; anyone with the link can send messages to you and the AI mediator handles them. No account needed on the other side.
The on-site chat is Mediator's simplest platform. You configure a "virtual contact" here in the app; you get a URL like https://mediacio.duckdns.org/chat/<uuid>; you share the URL with whoever should be able to reach you.
What it looks like
Whoever opens the link sees a chat window branded with your name. They type; the AI mediator (configured with a system prompt of your choosing) replies. If the AI decides to mark a message or wait for you before responding, they see the state instead of a reply. You see the same conversation live in the admin panel.
Setup steps
- Go to Settings → On-site chat and click Create a new link.
- Give it a label (visible only to you) and optionally an email address to send the link to.
- Copy the generated URL and share it however you like — email, SMS, printed on a business card.
When to use it
- People without WhatsApp / Facebook (or people whose phone number you don't have).
- Public-facing "contact me" pages.
- Testing your mediator prompts with a friendly stranger before pointing your real WhatsApp at them.
Known limits
- No file attachments other than images.
- No end-to-end encryption — the link's traffic is only TLS to your server. Anyone who guesses the UUID could join the conversation; treat the URL like a secret.
- Sessions are cookie-based, so a user's chat history is scoped to the browser they used.
